Phonics Screening in Australia
Our work on articulating the neurocognitive processes of reading acquisition was at the heart of the recent decision to introduce state-wide phonics screening in New South Wales, Australia (links to our work here and here).
Parliamentary Enquiries
Our research has been cited by the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Literacy, the Right to Read Inquiry by the Ontario Human Rights Commission (see here also), the Inquiry into Literacy Teaching in Tasmania, the Inquiry into the Status of the Teaching Profession (Australia) and in the Scottish Parliament. Professor Rastle also contributed to a Parliamentary Seminar on Literacy chaired by Suella Braverman MP (Education Select Committee).
